might be the rawest pic I ever seen. and he got a bag of chips in his hand

THIS IS SO FUCKING METAL

With his dreads and his american flag shirt, this is everything

I want this to be one of those photos that lasts forever you know

This photo is gonna go down in history its fuckin unbelievably powerful

Flobots gonna have some new lyrics.

according to the protester’s twitter account, he was throwing it away from children being gassed, not at the cops

on the far left of the picture, you can see a small figure (possibly two) wearing what looks like dark jeans and a black tee with a white long-sleeved shirt underneath; the white sleeve is clearly visible at child-size, child-height, the curb they’re standing on it’s far enough away for that to be an adult body

this is fucking important to know, especially given how the cops/media are twisting and misrepresenting the protesters’ actions as ‘violence’

I think I’m having an existential crisis…
I was cross-stitching it for two years. And then I finished it… well, nothing happened. But not only this. While I was working on this I had a constant thought “It would look better then I’ll finish it”. And now I have no such hope. It’s already finished and it’s surely wouldn’t get any better =\
And now I’m like “why did I even thought it was a good idea? why I was spending my time and money for this? nobody wanted or needed this except for me. and, at the end, even I don’t feel like it was the thing I wanted and needed”.
So I’m just sitting, looking at it and thinking “wait… so what was the point of all of this?”.

THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST INCREDIBLE THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE

EVERYONE

EVERYONE COME LOOK AT THE THING

COME

ITS AMAZING

Okay… That’s it… I think I’m going to set this as my alarm on my phone so I can feel like I’m waking up in heaven on a daily basis.

There’s just something about children’s choirs.

There’s just something about this song

Okay, let me tell you a thing about this song. My mother is a nurse in the NICU with small premature babies. and she had one baby that was born addicted to 5 different drugs. Needless to say, the poor baby had to suffer through intense withdrawals, and my mom discovered that this song was incredibly soothing for the baby while he went through all of his pain. She would play this during his rougher patches, and it would calm him down. So yes, there is something about this song.

Fun facts!

This song is a mele (soft, metered song with music) in contrast to an oli (a chant), and translated, it’s a song actually for Chief Kalakaua and Cheifess Lili’ulani. It tells of the beautiful scenery of all the islands, and specifically, a beautiful blooming flower that withstands the summits of each significant peak of Hawaii (including Mauna Kea!).
If you contrast the words mele and oli, you will hear them (say them outloud!) how soft, and harsh they are respectively. This mele is comprised of mostly soft, flowing words (save for the name of the mountains!) and the combination of those beautiful words used to name beautiful things and the Children’s Chorus is probably what it is.

Peace(fulness) transcends language.

I will love you forever; whatever happens. Until I die and after I die, and when I find my way out of the land of the dead, I’ll drift about forever, all my atoms, until I find you again.

I have tears in my eyes.

Like I don’t even think you guys understand the magnitude of this tweet. The sheer humanity of this, they are dying over there. No they are being SLAUGHTERED but they have the ability to still think to help people they have never met, people they will never meet. They understand what the people in Ferguson are going through, they see it because they are going through it too.

The Intricate Handcut Paper World of Maud White

I come from a family of visual storytellers. I have always believed that our vision is as important as our hearing when we communicate. Very rarely do we rely on words alone. It is what we see, and how our brains interpret what we see that shapes our perceptions and actions. I began cutting paper with that understanding. I want my art to communicate to the observer what my words cannot do effectively.

When I was a child I thought a great deal about hidden spaces. The intimacy, the hushed secrecy – I was always looking underneath objects, or through them. I have always believed that if you look hard enough, you will see something precious and new, or, perhaps, something incredibly ancient and sacred.

Current show is at the fantastic Merge Restaurant in downtown Buffalo, NY! Show runs through June
